A BACKPACK FOR EVERYONE
One way to help families escape poverty is by ensuring their children have access to education. Every year, at the start of the school year, HumanSmile launches its initiative “A BACKPACK FOR EVERYONE,” a fundraising campaign that provides needy schoolchildren and students with backpacks containing essential school supplies and uniforms.
Thanks to this initiative, hundreds of children start the school year in the best conditions. We provide school packs that include: a backpack, a uniform, notebooks, textbooks, and a complete set of stationery.
HumanSmile supports primary school students in Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, Somalia, Yemen, and Afghanistan. In Belgium, HumanSmile helps children accompanying their mothers in protection centers.
Our goal is to give these children the opportunity to thrive in school and pursue their dreams.
A BACKPACK FOR EVERYONE MEANS:
PURCHASING BACKPACKS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES
HumanSmile also funds all essential school supplies needed by students, such as textbooks, notebooks, calculators, pencils, pens, backpacks, rulers, and protractors.
PURCHASING SCHOOL UNIFORMS
In some schools, uniforms are mandatory. Thanks to your donations, HumanSmile will fund school uniforms in the targeted countries.

PRECARIOUS STUDENTS (BE)
Nowadays, students struggle to choose between studying, eating, or finding shelter. Often, they cut back on their food budget.
The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted sectors employing student job seekers. Plunged into poverty, the most vulnerable find themselves without jobs and without means to support themselves.
Condemned to spend time worrying about rent and food at the expense of study time, HumanSmile aims to alleviate the financial and mental burden of these students by offering regular distributions of food parcels and solidarity vouchers redeemable at our partner stores.
