HELP US PROVIDE ACCESS TO WATER.

HUMANSMILE TACKLES THIS WATER PROJECT THROUGH THREE PILLARS: WELL DRILLING, SOIL SANITATION, AND WATER FILTRATION.

WATER, SOURCE OF LIFE

Water is a vital need for humans and their humanity. Essential for the survival of every man, woman, child, and elderly person, it must be safe for daily consumption and clean for hygiene use. Unfortunately, in some disadvantaged countries, potable water seems to be an inaccessible luxury for those who lack the financial means.

Thus, HumanSmile helps these endangered populations by financing collective water points close to their homes.

WELL DRILLING

HumanSmile first searches for an underground water source and then drills the well that will provide access to potable water for many people.

Well drilling is a mission that HumanSmile operates in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Togo, Somalia, Chad, Mali, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Niger, Benin, Sudan, Tanzania, and Burkina Faso.

To date, 16,362 people have benefited from the drilled wells. You can offer a well in your name or in tribute to a specific person through HumanSmile.

WHAT DOES WELL DRILLING WITH HUMANSMILE INVOLVE?

VITAL RESOURCES

Drilling a well guarantees hydration and healthy food.

PROSPEROUS ACTIVITY

Drilling a well supports the activities of farmers.

BETTER HEALTH

Drilling a well prevents diseases caused by unsafe water.

SADAQA JARIYA

Drilling a well generates good deeds even after leaving this world.

“A drop of water is enough to create a world.” Gaston Bachelard

SOIL SANITATION & WATER FILTRATION

But HumanSmile doesn’t stop at short-term well drilling. It is important to ensure soil sanitationand water filtration to guarantee access to safe and clean drinking water. These actions require soil studies and more advanced infrastructure than just drilling.

Kofi Annan declared that “we will not defeat any of the infectious diseases that plague developing countries until we have won the battle for safe drinking water, sanitation, and basic healthcare.” According to a 2019 UNICEF report, 297,000 children under the age of five die each year from diarrheal diseases caused by unsafe water and inadequate sanitation and hygiene practices.

Access to potable water is a fundamental right for human dignity. It is one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and one of HumanSmile’s main humanitarian projects.
