THE EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS STILL NEED YOUR HELP 🇲🇦
AS YOU KNOW, MOROCCO HAS BEEN HIT BY A DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKE. NOW, AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS, THE EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS MUST REGAIN THEIR DIGNITY. HUMANSMILE WENT BACK TO THE COUNTRY TO ANALYSE THEIR NEEDS.
THE VICTIMS STILL NEED YOUR HELP 🇲🇦
THE BALANCE SHEET:
- More than 3,500 lives have been lost.
- More than 6,500 people have been injured.
- 400,000 people are homeless, in urgent need of care and relief.
HumanSmile and its local partners mobilised full time to provide emergency aid in the first hours after the earthquake, bringing considerable help to the first victims.
After 4 months, HumanSmile returned to the earthquake zone. The problems we encountered are numerous: access to education, access to water, access to health and access to housing. There is still a lot of work to be done to put a smile back on the faces of those affected. HumanSmile is counting on your support through its medium-term ‘Shelter’ project to give hope to the families devastated by the earthquake.

LET’S ALLOW THE SURVIVORS TO REGAIN SOME PRIVACY AND HUMAN DIGNITY.
ANALYSIS OF THE SITUATION AFTER : 4 MONTHS
ACCESS TO HOUSING
As you know, winter is harsh and long in the Moroccan Atlas. We were able to send 100 good quality tents to protect the earthquake victims. But that’s not enough, they need our help to live in dignity.

ACCESS TO EDUCATION
What’s striking about this region is the number of children, some of whom have to travel miles to get to school. After the earthquake, schools became even more difficult to access.
